Lisa is send from London to Dublin to set up a new Women’s magazine Colleen. Lisa is used to her glamorous lifestyle, something she has to give up in Ireland so it seems. Ashling is her “second in command” with her own set of problems. She is very insecure about her lack of waist, her lack of brilliant ideas and her lack of self esteem. Clodagh is Ashling’s best friend, married, two kids, in a total dip and wanting something completely different in her life. Jack is Lisa’s and Ashling’s boss, having problems in his relationship with a finger biting Asian girlfriend.

I have to say in all honesty it is a real “women’s” book. That said, it is also a very funny book.
Maggie Garvan (Walsh) just found out her husband has an affair with “Truffle woman”. In her anger she sets off to LA, Hollywood to “take some down time” at her best friend Emily, a scriptwriter waiting for her big break. In the month she is there all sorts of crazy stuff happens. Trying to fit in the LA lifestyle she gets herself in the weirdest situations helped by some of the strangest people. All through her stay the question remains: is she ever getting back with her husband Paul Garvan (Garv for short).

Rachel is the middle sister/daughter of five, 26 years old. She is Irish, living in New York with her friend Brigit for the past couple of years, recently trying to have a meaningful relationship with Luke, one of the “Real Men” (how awful!). So, her life is very normal, except for the fact she is a drug addict. Everybody says so, but herself. Still, she is sent to a treatment center what she sees as a holiday with bubble baths, massages and lots of famous people. Was she wrong!
