I just finished my first book for 2010 and realised I didn’t post my read book of 2009. Although I didn’t read that much, I picked good ones. Not all, of course, that would be inhuman but still.…I did good overall.

The Corinthian Richard Wyndham is destined to marry a woman he doesn’t really like because both the families will benefit by this arrangement. The night before he is going to ask her hand, he spends in a pub. Going home a little tipsy, he sees how a young person climbs out of a window with a robe that is too short. Richard helps by catching her…yes, it is a girl! A girl on the run for her arranged marriage.

That is the start of a strange adventure full of theft, murder, and of course romance.

A very enjoyable book. Nothing too serious, but it has sharp and funny dialogues. The characters are likable and are a perfect mix of tradition and a new generation that wants more out of life than arranged marriages.
