state and main — david mamet

A film crew is taking over a little peaceful town, because it happens to have an old mill. The old mill features in the most important scene of the film and is therefore of great importance. But after the director (Walt) gets the news the old mill has burnt down, the usual turmoil turns into full blown panic. The script writer (Joe) has to write another ending to the movie, and, o yeah, just a little problem, has to come up with a new name for the movie. If that is not enough already the main actress suddenly doesn’t want to show her boobies to the public anymore and the main actor is doing what he is famous for with ‘younger women’.
It should be enough to drive a man crazy. Is Walt ever going to have his film?

johnny bunko — daniel h. pink & rob ten pas

Johnny Bunko works for Boggs corp. in a dead end job in finance. He majored in accounting because his father thought that was a safe way to go, although Johnny wanted to chose advertising or art history and drawing.
When he needs to pull another all-nighter he goes to grab some noodles. Once back at his seat in the office he opens his chopsticks and something magical happens: a genie named Diana appears before him to teach him the six career secrets he has to know to exploit his potential and reach the goals he wants.

monster — naoki urasawa

Two children, twins, are brought in the hospital after their adoptive parents are brutally murdered. The girl is in shock, the boy has severe head trauma. Doctor Kenzo Tenma, a Japanese man working and living in Germany, saves the life of this young boy called Johan against the wishes of the director of the hospital, and father of his fiancee Eva. Not a smart move in many ways. He discredits himself with the director and with Eva, who lost her interest in Kenzo overnight, and secondly, and most importantly, he seems to have saved not just a boy, but a boy that proves to be a Monster.

were has she gone

I know people, I know…
I haven’t been posting lately and I’m hanging my head in shame, but sometimes reality takes over, things have to be taken care of and time isn’t on your side.
Well, time hasn’t been on my side for a while now and reading became a luxury where I can only dream of.
The worst is over though and you will soon see my reviews popping up again.

Thanks for your patience.
