elements of style — wendy wasserstein

Frankie is a pediatrician in the Upper East Side of New York. Her clients are the high society of the city and throughout the book Frankie is the binding factor for all of the other characters we get to meet. There is Judy the wannabe, Samantha the accomplished and Barry the Hollywood movie-maker, amongst others. Per chapter we get to hear from them, about their struggles to get to the top or the tiresome task of staying there. At some point their lives aren’t as real anymore as they all might have thought and that is when everything starts to crumble down. How do they cope when their society as they know it seize to exist.

the suicide shop — jean teulé

i luv halloween — vol. 1, 2 & 3 — keith griffen (author) & benjamin roman (illustrator)

A totally disturbing, but hilarious story about a group of children going trick-or-treating with Halloween.

The legend goes that what sort of candy you get at the first house predict what the loot will be for the rest of the night. And it so happens Finch and his buddies get apples from the old lady who lives at the first house. Not a good omen and the granny will pay for this!

Be amazed about the plan the terrible and terrifying bunch comes up with and have fun reading how it acts out.

Josh, her former neighbor, works at a book store and listens to his roommate for flirt and women’s advice. Something he better cannot do. But on the other hand, he has a jar full of girl’s phone numbers. The only thing is, he only has eyes for Nicole. A shame that this is not a mutual feeling. Unless…
